well there are many reasons to why it is expensive but I only know one, and that is that the animals that you have selectively bred may have consequences to the genes it has inherited. For example, in a cow, there may be a gene that produces more milk and so people breed cows of those specific genes. However, there may be a gene that is inherited WITH this feature, like mastitis(inflammation of the udder) which means that there would be a lot of money spent on treating every cow of this illness who has the feature of producing more milk. Get it?
Selective breeding is expensive because it involves carefully choosing and mating specific individuals to produce desired traits in the offspring. This process requires a lot of time, resources, and expertise to monitor and manage the breeding program effectively. Additionally, costs may be incurred for genetic testing, veterinary care, and infrastructure to support the breeding operation.
iam not sure but it has to do with science and breeding
Selective breeding was introduced by Charles Darwin in his book "The Origin of Species" in 1859. He proposed that the selective reproduction of individuals with desirable traits could lead to the improvement of a species over time.
The similarity between natural selection and selective breeding is that they both produce changes in plants and animals.
a human
decreased its genetic diversity
Selective breeding.
Biotechnology is involved in Selective Breeding.
the process of selecting a few organisms with the desired traits to serve as parents of the next generation is called what?
Another name of selective breeding can also be artificial selection.
You do not allow evolution to occur, for you are evolution in selective breeding.
Selective breeding is a way of maintaining animal existence. Selective breeding is when the strong survive. If only the weak survived then all animals would die out quickly
natural selecion
1. endangering the 'selective breeding' speacies 2. how am i suppose to know im 10???
Dogs are the number one selective breeding by the human being for their purpose of being in this world.
The selective breeding of pure yeast cultures began in 1883
Selective breeding
Selective breeding is a category that has genetic engineering in it. while selective breeding is choosing a trait or feature to breed on, genetic engineering is a man made change in a subjects genes
