CFCs only interacts with stratospheric ozone because the ultraviolet light is much stronger at that altitude. UV breaks down the CFCs to release ionic chlorine (and bromine from Halons) which react with ozone to produce oxygen and atomic oxygen. Ozone does not directly interact with these compounds. It takes energetic light to "deplete ozone" with these compounds. Water vapor does a good job...

CFCs do not remove ozone in the troposphere because the chemical reactions that break down ozone molecules into oxygen atoms typically occur in the stratosphere. In the troposphere, CFCs are more likely to break down into their constituent elements without affecting ozone levels.

We don't want ozone in the troposphere by any way. It is due to the fact that ozone at ground level is pollutant.

What can be done in order to avoid ozone layer destruction?

just dont use CFCs products like areosols theres other bad stuff too but please dont destroy the ozone layer...bye

What does the Troposphere do?

Much of the phenomena that affects our day-to-day weather takes place in the troposphere.

Why dont atomic bombs destroy ozone?

Atomic bombs primarily release energy in the form of heat and light, which does not directly affect ozone molecules. Ozone depletion is mainly caused by chemicals like chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) that break down ozone in the stratosphere. Therefore, atomic bombs do not contribute to ozone depletion.

What do cfcs do to the environment?

As the uv light breaks off the cl atom from cfc molecule(CFCl3), it will react with ozone to produce ClO and react with free O to produce free cl atom tht will attack ozone. Depletion of ozone can cause damage to the living cells and the marine life

How does the troposphere help us?

i dont know

Do fossil fuels give of CFC's?

Fossil fuels do not directly emit CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons). However, some industrial processes involved in extracting and refining fossil fuels can release CFCs as a byproduct. CFCs are more commonly associated with refrigerants and aerosol propellants.

What are the benefits of flying long distance plans in the troposphere?

What does the air the troposphere do as it heats up from the sun?

Why don't airplanes fly in the troposphere?

Airplanes dont fly in the stratosphere because they produce too much sound. This may cause noise pollution and stress among people who are on the ground. So they dont fly in the Troposphere.

How cold does the ozone layer have to be to so icebergs dont melt?

The temp of the ozone layer has no affect on icebergs.

What is ozone layer you dont want the layer definition the other one?

Ozone layer is a magical cover of ozone gas. It protects us from UV rays.

How can you control depletion of the ozone layer?

You can control depletion of the ozone layer by phasing out the use of ozone-depleting substances like chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), promoting the use of ozone-friendly alternatives, enforcing international agreements like the Montreal Protocol, and supporting initiatives that protect the ozone layer such as reducing emissions and increasing awareness.
