I believe (do not quote me; I'm not sure) that plants do not need direct sunlight. Plants perform photosynthesis, which requires light from the sun to make energy- and I believe that plants need a wider light spectrum than just visible light. Therefore, plants need sunlight or the closest synthetic approximation (for example, fish tank lights often emit UV rays and possibly others in addition to normal light, letting aquatic plants live).

Plants need direct sunlight for photosynthesis, a process where they convert sunlight into energy to produce their food. Sunlight provides the energy needed to drive this process, allowing plants to grow and thrive. Without sufficient sunlight, plants may become stressed, grow slowly, or even wilt.

Will plants need sunlight?

Yes, all plants need sunlight in order to survive. Just be careful not to give them too much direct sunlight or they will dry up from too much heat. Cacti are probably the longest-lasting plants in direct sunlight because they are desert plants and are made to survive extreme heat.

Will direct sunlight damage a money tree plant?

No, direct sunlight will not damage a money tree plant. Money trees thrive in full sun and partial shade; outdoor plants do not need direct sunlight. However, plants grown indoors will do best in full, bright light.

Does all flowering plants grow in shady places?

Nope. Plenty of plants need direct sunlight for most of the day to flower.

Do dandelions need sunlight?

Yes, dandelions require sunlight to grow and thrive. They are sun-loving plants that require at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day to photosynthesize and produce energy for growth. Lack of sunlight can result in stunted growth and fewer flowers.

Why plants need sunlight and water?

plants need sunlight and water to conduct photosynthesis, which is how plants make energy.

How much sunlight do blueberry plants need?

Blueberries like other barries ripen best in full direct sunlight. There color and water content depends on the sunlight to help the growing process.

Do Diefenbachia need direct sunlight?

Dieffenbachia plants prefer indirect sunlight. Direct sunlight can scorch their leaves, so it's best to place them in a location with bright, filtered light. Too much sun can lead to leaf burn and harm the plant.

What plants grow better in direct sunlight?

Plants that thrive in direct sunlight include succulents, cacti, lavender, rosemary, and sunflowers. These plants have adapted to withstand high light levels and can thrive in full sun conditions. Make sure to provide proper watering and suitable soil conditions for optimal growth.

What if closed the curtains allowing no sunlight through for the plant?

If you close the curtains and provide no sunlight to the plant, it will not be able to photosynthesize and may eventually wilt and die. Plants need sunlight to make food and grow, so it is important to ensure they receive adequate light to thrive. Consider rotating the plant periodically to ensure all sides receive enough sunlight.

What indoor plants do not need sunlight?

All plants need sunlight so they can go through photosynthesis.

Do different light intensities affect plant growth?

Yes. Some plants prefer direct sunlight and some need less.
