Places the same distance from the equator can have different ecosystems due to factors like altitude, ocean currents, and geography. These factors can influence temperature, precipitation, and soil composition, creating diverse habitats that support different types of flora and fauna. Additionally, human activities and historical events can also play a role in shaping ecosystems.
