Mendel allowed the offspring of his experimental plants to self-pollinate. That is, he allowed the male and female reproductive cells of the same plant to join and produce a seed. One of the characteristics of pea plants is that it is easy to cross different pea plants but, left to themselves, they self-pollinate with little chance of any accidental pollination between plants. What did Gregor Mendel call the parent plants?

Gregor Mendel called the parent plants in his experiments "P generation," which stood for parental generation.

What was mendels second experiments?

Mendel allowed the first generation plants to self pollinate.

How did Gregor Mendel make sure that the plant with round seeds did not self pollinate?

He allowed plants whose seeds were round or wrinkled in shape to self pollinate. This trait has two variations-either round or wrinkled seeds.

The theory of inheritance was first proposed by an Austrian monk named?

Gregor Mendel is the father of genetics. He found the inheritance using pea plants.

True or false Gregor Mendel concluded that the tall plants in the P generation passed the factor for tallness to the F1 generation?

True. Gregor Mendel concluded that the tall plants in the P generation passed the factor for tallness to the F1 generation based on his experiments with pea plants and his observations of phenotypic ratios.

Gregor Mendel removed the male parts form the flowers of some plants in order to?

Gregor Mendel removed the male parts from flowers to prevent self-fertilization and control the pollination process. This allowed him to cross-pollinate plants with specific traits and study their inheritance patterns more accurately. By controlling the pollen, Mendel could selectively breed plants with desired characteristics to observe how traits were passed down to the next generation.
