∙ 12y agoSnow on mountains is caused by a variety of factors such as altitude, temperature, and precipitation - not just proximity to the sun. Mountains are colder than lower elevations due to thinner air and less insulation from the ground, allowing for snow to accumulate at higher altitudes.
The sun affects mountains by causing temperature fluctuations that contribute to processes like frost weathering, where water seeps into cracks in rocks and freezes, leading to the expansion and breakage of rock. This can eventually cause erosion and shape the mountains over time. Additionally, the sun's heat can also lead to melting of snow and ice on mountains, which can impact local ecosystems and water supplies.
no the earth is closer to the sun that Uranus
if the asteroid is closer to the sun does it go faster or slower
The temperature gets hotter as you get closer to the equator and colder as you leave the equator. This has to do with how the sun's rays hit earth.
Sun.

it gets a lot warmer.. because you are closer to the sun (due to the earth's round shape)
The Earth is getting very, very slightly farther away from the Sun over time, due to tidal forces.
"Mercury... getting even closer to the Sun!"
It is moving in the part of its orbit so that it is getting closer to the Sun.
sun, rain wind, and snow in the south island, and at high mountains in the north island
Well,it is dark in the morning at winter because the earth is getting further away from the sun,and getting closer to the moon.
it is closer to the sun in june
The seasons are caused by the tilt of the earth relative to the sun. The earths axis is tilted and not perfectly parallel with the sun's axis. This means that as the earth circles the sun half the planet will be closer to the sun then the other. When half is closer that is summer. (closer = hotter). When it is farthest away that is winter (father = colder). Spring and fall are the transition times in between. When the tilt is moving away from the sun it is getting farther and farther away and getting colder...(fall). When it gets closer then it gets warmer leading to spring. Food for thought....when its summer in the USA..its winter in Australia
