Self harm is ususally a method of emotional release, and a lot of the time an affect of a troubled childhood. It can be caused by extreme pressure and stress, anger/frustration, being a victim of bullying and much more. It is more common in young adults and teenagers, especially women. It can be seen as a way of survival also.
Nietzsche rejected all moral systems because he viewed them as restricting individual freedom and creativity. He believed that embracing fixed moral codes hindered personal growth and potential. Nietzsche argued for a morality based on individual will and self-expression rather than conformity to external rules.
The two sociologists who developed the concept of techniques of neutralization are Gresham Sykes and David Matza. They argued that individuals use these techniques to rationalize or justify their deviant actions or behaviors, allowing them to temporarily suspend their moral or social constraints and maintain a positive self-image.
Self-awareness and self-acceptance are two key components of self. Self-awareness involves understanding one's own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, while self-acceptance includes embracing oneself fully, including strengths and weaknesses.
The four components of self-concept are self-image (how we see ourselves), self-esteem (how we feel about ourselves), self-efficacy (belief in our abilities to accomplish tasks), and self-identity (the qualities and characteristics that define who we are).

Descartes' conclusion is "Cogito, ergo sum" which means "I think, therefore I am." This statement reflects his foundational belief that self-awareness and consciousness are inseparable from existence.
Yes, Descartes believed in a dualistic view of the self, where the mind (or soul) and the body are separate entities. He argued that the mind exists independently of the body and that the mind's essence is thought.
