well the sun obviously gives a constant amount of light. the real factor for the amount of daylight is the earth its orbit around the sun and how it is tilted on its axis. everybody automatically assumes the earths orbit around the sun is a circle but it is more of a oval (egg) shape so the earth will be closer to the sun twice a year (the equinox) plus the earth tilts slightly on its axis as it travels along its orbit. on one equinox the top hemisphere is closer to the sun so you get warmer weather and longer days and on the other the Southern Hemisphere is closer giving them there summer.

The latitude of the location and the time of year (season) are the main factors that determine the number of hours of daylight at a particular location. Locations closer to the poles have longer daylight hours in summer due to the Earth's tilt, while locations near the equator have more consistent daylight hours throughout the year.

Why are climate and location the two most important factors in determining ecosystem diversity?

Climate and location are important factors in determining ecosystem diversity because they influence the type of plants and animals that can thrive in a particular region. Climate affects temperature, precipitation, and seasonality, which in turn determine the species that can live in an area. Location, such as proximity to mountains, oceans, or deserts, also shapes the availability of resources and habitats for different species.

What factors of physical or cultural geography determine location of ecosystems?

Physical factors such as climate, topography, soil composition, and water availability play a key role in determining the location of ecosystems. Cultural factors like human activities, land use practices, urbanization, and pollution can also influence the distribution and health of ecosystems. The interaction between physical and cultural geography ultimately shapes the biodiversity and functionality of ecosystems in a particular area.
