Mercury, because it has little atmosphere and no water. this causes the day time side to heat rapidly to almost 427 degrees C and the night time side to drop its temperature like a steel ball, to about-173 degrees C, not to mention it takes about 58 days and 16 hours for the planet to rotate once, so 29 days and 8 hours to super heat then the same to freeze and then some. in total, the range is about 600 degrees C from hottest point to coldest point What is wrong with statement is that while Mercury does rotate on its axis, it is tidally locked to the Sun just as the moon is to the Earth. Mercury's day is the same length as its year. So just like the moon keeps the same face toward the Earth at all times, one side of Mercury is always facing the sun and the one side is always facing away from the sun. Mercury's day and year are both 88 Earth days long.

Why Is the temperature contrast between the equator and the Arctic region greatest in the summer?

The temperature contrast between the equator and the Arctic region is greatest in the summer due to the tilt of the Earth's axis. During the summer, the Northern Hemisphere is tilted towards the Sun, causing more direct sunlight and higher temperatures at the equator and lower temperatures in the Arctic region. This leads to a larger temperature difference between the two regions.

What is the temperature patterns of Alaska?

Alaska experiences a wide range of temperatures due to its large size and varying ecosystems. In general, the state has long, cold winters with temperatures often dropping below freezing, especially in the interior regions. Summers can be relatively mild, with some areas experiencing warmer temperatures due to the effects of the ocean currents. The temperature patterns can vary significantly between different parts of the state.

What is the temperatures in summer and winter in Oklahoma?

In Oklahoma, summer temperatures typically range from 90-100°F, with occasional peaks above 100°F. Winter temperatures range from 30-50°F, occasionally dropping below freezing. Oklahoma experiences a wide temperature variation between summer and winter.

What planet experiences the smallest range of temperatures?

Mercury experiences the smallest range of temperatures in our solar system. Due to its lack of atmosphere, temperatures on Mercury can vary drastically between day and night. The side facing the sun can reach up to 800°F (430°C) during the day, while on the dark side temperatures can drop to -290°F (-180°C).

Which destination would experience the greatest difference temperatures between summer and winter?

Siberia, Russia, typically experiences the greatest difference in temperatures between summer and winter. In winter, temperatures can drop to as low as -50°C (-58°F), while in summer, temperatures can rise to above 30°C (86°F). This extreme temperature range is due to Siberia's continental climate with long, cold winters and short, warm summers.

What is the difference between two temperatures?

The difference between two temperatures is the numerical value that represents how much one temperature is larger or smaller than the other. To calculate the temperature difference, you subtract the lower temperature from the higher temperature.

What is the difference between the lowest temperatures?

The difference between the lowest temperatures refers to the numerical value that represents the interval between the two lowest recorded temperatures. It is the result of subtracting the lower temperature from the other to determine their difference.

How do you find a temperature range?

The highest temperature minus the lowest temperature is the temperature range. The temperature range is how many degrees is in between the highest and lowest temperatures.

What is the difference between the hottest temperature of 134F and coldest temperature of -128F?

The difference between the hottest temperature of 134F and the coldest temperature of -128F is 262 degrees Fahrenheit. This represents the range of temperatures between the two extremes.

Which direction does heat flow from when both temperatures are the same?

Heat does not flow when both temperatures are the same. Heat always moves from a higher temperature to a lower temperature to reach equilibrium.

At room temperature the greatest attractive forces exist between particles of?

At room temperature, the greatest attractive forces exist between particles of solids because the particles are closely packed together and have strong intermolecular forces such as Van der Waals forces or hydrogen bonding.

What is the energy transferred between objects because of a difference in temperature?

The energy transferred between objects due to a difference in temperature is called heat. Heat flows from objects at higher temperatures to objects at lower temperatures until thermal equilibrium is reached.

What is the energy that flows between objects that have different temperatures?

The energy that flows between objects with different temperatures is called heat. Heat transfer occurs from a region of higher temperature to a region of lower temperature in order to reach thermal equilibrium.

Which part of India experiences the highest diurnal ranges of temperature and why?

The north-western part of India comprising the Indian Desert experiences the highest diurnal range of temperature. This is because of the fact that sand (found in ample quantity in this region) gains and loses heat very quickly. As a result of this phenomenon, there is a wide difference between day and night temperatures in this region. The day temperature may rise to 50°C and drop down to near 15°C the same night.
