∙ 15y agodicots refers to two cotyledons also recognized as the halves of seeds such as the red bean. If you allow a dried red bean to soak in water for a short while and then open and remove the red outer 'hull' the cotyledons (2 of them) can be separated. 2 cotyledons qualify the red bean as a di-cotyledon.
