Lipids and fats can be obtained from various sources such as food sources like nuts, seeds, avocados, and oily fish. The body can also synthesize its own fats from excess carbohydrates or proteins consumed in the diet. Lipids and fats play a crucial role in providing energy, insulating organs, and aiding in the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins.

lipids can be found in anything you eat, certain foods just have more lipids than others. A lipid is made up of fat and cholesterol, the right amount of both are needed to survive. There are two types of fat; saturated and unsaturated. unsaturated fat is healthier and better for you. Saturated fats have more single bonds between carbons than unsaturated fats that have more double bonds, making less carbon. Unsaturated fats are mainly found in plants.

They store energy and insulate the body.

EX. Polar bears have lots of blubber (fat/ lipids) so they can live in extreme climates and stay warm.

There are two main sources where lipids come from in our bodies. The first is from the food we eat and the other one is from triglycerides which are storage molecules.
