Along plate boudaries.
OK, im just gonna try to make some sense. Volcanoes dont come from anywhere they are natural mountains (with a series of tunnels in them) that live in the weak spots of tectonic plate where magma can form underneath the volcano in something called a magma chamber. When there is enough pressure in the magma chamber the magma goes through the series of tunnels and is thrust out the top of the volcano.

Hope this helps,,

Volcanoes form where tectonic plates converge or diverge, causing magma to rise to the surface. When the pressure builds up and erupts through an opening, it forms a volcano. The magma is derived from the Earth's mantle and is rich in silica and gases.

The molten rock, called magma when it is underground, comes from a magma chamber beneath the volcano. The magma chamber is in turn supplied by the mantle.

What is a crater and a vent?

a crater is the opening at the top of a volcano. Vents are the openings that sometimes come at the sides of the volcano because there may be alot of magma in the volcano and it needs to come out somehow. so it sort of pressurizes the side of the volcano until it breaks through to make an opening. the opening is called a vent.
