there are a lot of receptors in the body & each has a diff. function, depending on which their location depends.

would appreciate if you could be more specific, as to which kind of receptors you are looking for. to quote a few...

the baroreceptors.that control blood pressure are present in aortic arch & carotid sinus.

the histamine receptors...that control our reaction to Allergies & gasric acid production.H1 predominantly in skin & lung.H2 which stimulates acid production exclusively in gastric body & fundus.

then there are the muscarinic, nicotinic, adrenergic, chemoreceptors, serotonin, angiotensin, aldosterone, vasopressin, oxyticin, ant.pituitary hormone,etc...recptor.there are a lot of pathways that work using the stimulant-receptor mechanism.so be specific of the kind of receptors you are looking at.

Different types of receptors are located throughout the body, including in the skin for touch and temperature sensations, in the eyes for light and color perception, in the ears for hearing and balance, and in the nose for smell. Receptors are also found in various internal organs to monitor conditions like blood pressure, pH levels, and stretch of tissues.

How many different kinds of receptors are there for acetylcholine?

There are two main types of receptors for acetylcholine: muscarinic receptors, which are G-protein coupled receptors, and nicotinic receptors, which are ligand-gated ion channels. Each type of receptor is further classified into different subtypes based on their structure and function.

What are the types of alpha receptors?

There are two main types of alpha receptors: alpha-1 and alpha-2. Alpha-1 receptors are located in smooth muscle cells of blood vessels, causing vasoconstriction when activated. Alpha-2 receptors are located both presynaptically and postsynaptically in the central and peripheral nervous systems, regulating the release of neurotransmitters.

What receptors does your skin contain?

The skin contains various types of receptors, including thermoreceptors for temperature sensation, nociceptors for pain perception, mechanoreceptors for touch and pressure, and proprioceptors for detecting body position and movement. These receptors are located in different layers of the skin and help us sense and respond to our environment.

What are two types of receptors in skin that detect fine touch?

Two types of receptors in the skin that detect fine touch are Meissner's corpuscles, which are located in the dermal papillae and detect light touch and vibration, and Merkel cells, which are located in the epidermis and detect pressure and texture.

Where would you find receptors that respond to?

You would find receptors that respond to various stimuli in different parts of the body, such as the skin for touch and temperature receptors, the nose for olfactory receptors, and the tongue for taste receptors. Additionally, there are receptors located in organs and tissues that respond to internal conditions like pressure, pH, and hormones.

Do auditory receptors detect light?

No, auditory receptors do not detect light. Auditory receptors are sensory cells that respond to sound waves, which are pressure waves with frequencies between 16 hertz and 20,000 hertz. Light, on the other hand, is an electromagnetic wave with frequencies ranging from about 400 terahertz to 790 terahertz. Auditory receptors are located in the inner ear, in the basilar membrane of the organ of Corti, while light receptors are located in the retina of the eye. Therefore, auditory receptors and light receptors are different types of sensory cells that detect different types of stimuli.

What are your serotonin receptors?

5-HT receptors are the receptors for serotonin. They are located on the cell membrane of nerve cells and other cell types in animals.

What are three types of receptors?

There are four different types of receptors in the skin. There are merkel receptors, meissner corpuscles, ruffini cylinders and pacinian corpuscles.

Where are heat and cold receptors located?

Heat receptors are located in the skin, while cold receptors are also located in the skin but in different sensory nerve fibers. Heat receptors respond to higher temperatures, while cold receptors respond to lower temperatures, helping our body detect and regulate temperature changes.

Which component of the eye contains visual receptors?

The eye's visual receptors reside within the retina. The eye's visual receptors consist of four different types of receptors including rods, blue cones, red cones and green cones.

What molecule binds to the receptor to start the reaction inside the cell?

Cells have proteins called receptors that bind to signaling molecules and initiate a response.Different receptors are specific for different molecules. That means that they will respond only to that signal. Your eyes respond to light but your ears do not. There are hundreds of receptor types found in cells, and varying cell types have different populations of receptors.

What are the five different types of papillae?

Papillae are the receptors of taste that includes 4 types. Here are the 4 types of papillae: Fungiform, Filiform, Foliate, and Circumvallate papillae.

Where are olfactory receptors located?

Olfactory receptors are located in the nasal cavity, specifically in the olfactory epithelium. This specialized tissue lines the upper part of the nasal cavity and contains millions of olfactory receptor cells that are responsible for detecting smells.

Where are hormone receptors for non- steroid hormone located?

where are receptors for non-steroid hormones located

Where are temperature receptors located in human body?

Temperature receptors in the human body are located in the skin, especially in the dermis and epidermis layers. These receptors help to detect changes in temperature and send signals to the brain to regulate body temperature. Temperature receptors are also present in internal organs to help maintain internal temperature balance.

What are The two types of receptors that bind acetylcholine?

The two types of receptors that bind acetylcholine are nicotinic receptors and muscarinic receptors. Nicotinic receptors are ionotropic receptors found at the neuromuscular junction and in the autonomic ganglia, while muscarinic receptors are G-protein coupled receptors found in various organs like the heart, lungs, and digestive system.
