Tsunamis usually occur after earth surface disturbances, (of course these disturbances can occur on land or under the sea). They are not seasonal and hence there isn't a time of year they are more likely to occur.

Tsunamis typically occur in coastal areas after underwater earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, or landslides disturb the ocean floor. They can happen in any ocean or large body of water where these events occur, and are most common in the Pacific Ocean's "Ring of Fire" due to its high frequency of seismic activity.
