A power supply is generally only converting the mains voltage down to a lower voltage suitable for low voltage equipment.
It turns 120 v into 18v or 12v or 5v or any other voltage it is specified for.
In most countries outside US, we have 220 volt AC in the mains.
Power is however power. One could say that Voltage is the speed of which the power run.
A power supply generally slows down the speed of electricity.

∙ 14y agoA power supply converts alternating current (AC) from a wall outlet into direct current (DC) that electronic devices can use.
Variable DC power supplies are commonly used in electronics labs, production lines, and testing environments. They are used to power and test electronic devices such as electrical components, circuits, and sensors. Variable DC power supplies are also used in research and development for prototyping and experimenting with different voltage levels.
Batteries can provide both AC (alternating current) or DC (direct current) power, depending on the type of device they are connected to. However, most batteries themselves supply DC power. Devices that require AC power typically use an inverter to convert the battery's DC power into AC power.
An external power supply is a separate device used to provide electrical power to another device, such as a laptop or phone. It typically consists of a power cord and an adapter that connects to the device needing power. This type of setup is commonly used for charging devices or providing power when the internal battery is low or unavailable.
The Mitsubishi LT-70 turntable requires a standard AC power supply rated at 110-120V and 60Hz. It is important to ensure that the power supply meets these specifications to avoid damaging the equipment.

DC 12V power supply can convert 110/220V AC power source to 12V DC.
The power supply makes the computer run, without any type of power supply it would be impossible to run a computer. The mains power supply for a laptop and the power supply unit of a desk top, both convert the high AC voltage from the mains power and convert it to low voltage DC, for the electronics of a computer to use.
You need to convert the voltage if your appliance requires less voltage than you power supply. example: appliances is 110V and power supply is 220V.
You cant.
ferro-resonant power supply?
The function of the power supply is to convert wall current to the correct current for the computer and distribute power to all the internal computer components.
to convert AC into DC voltage without fluctuation
Power supply is dictated by your motherboard, simply get the power supply which matches the motherboards pin configuration.
of course. go to the market and buy a transformer. It will convert a 110V supply to a 220V supply.
Most often, power supplies for any type of equipment is givin to you when you buy what the power supply is for.

The type of power supply being used (AC or DC) should match the power requirements of the device it will be supplying power to.
