mm3 cm3 m3 km3

These can be used for volume just as ft³ or cu. ft., but are derived units - derived from units of length.

The litre (1000 cm³) is the commonly used unit of volume. Liquids sold in litres in Canada include water, gasoline, milk, and soft drinks. The millilitre (1/1000 of a litre) is often more useful in cooking.

any acceptable unit for volume is --metres cubed, (m^3), or metres with a small three in the top right.

Basically, centimetres cubed, metres cubed etc. are all acceptable, as volume is a three dimentional space, so it requires cubed units.

If referring to liquids, the liter/litre is more commonly used.

One liter is equal to 1000 cubic centimeters in volume. Other units of volume and their equivalents in liters are as follows:

1 milliliter = 0.001 liter

1 centiliter = 0.01 liter

1 deciliter = 0.1 liter

1 kiloliter = 1000 liters
