Producers are plants, and anything else that undergoes photosynthesis, that take in carbon dioxide and convert it to oxygen. Consumers, such as humans and animals, take in oxygen and convert it and release it as carbon dioxide through cellular respiration.

Consumers play a crucial role in these cycles by purchasing products, deciding what to consume, and influencing market demand. Their choices can drive shifts in production practices, promote sustainability, and encourage companies to adopt more environmentally friendly policies. By making informed and conscious decisions, consumers can help shape the direction of these cycles towards more sustainable and ethical outcomes.

Producers do just what their name suggest, they produce carbon in a usable form for the consumers.

A producer, like plants, take in CO2 and 'fix carbon', or put it into sugars. Glucose is a sugar whose molecular formula is C6H12O6. Plants are then eaten by consumers who break down the Glucose back in CO2 and the cycle continues.

In a nutshell

Comment: It asks Consumers not Producers!

Consumers, or organisms that rely on other organisms for food, use chemical processes to convert some forms of carbon and oxygen into others. Organisms such as animals take in carbon and oxygen in the form of glucose sugar (C6H12O6) and diatomic oxygen (O2). They then convert these back to water (H2O)and carbon dioxide (CO2) through cellular respiration. (Water and carbon dioxide are the reactants for photosynthesis in plants, algae, and photosynthetic bacteria or protists) When organisms die, their bodies decompose with the aid of microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi, releasing methane gas (CH4)and more carbon dioxide. Then the unused products are returned to the soil, where more bacteria break them down to be used by plants and other photosynthetic organisms.
