Chlorine will but it is a huge mess, I'm a pool boy and have tried it. It works but you will have bleached pant legs for a month or two.

Calcium chloride is a pool chemical that can be used to melt ice. It is often sold in pellet form and works by attracting moisture to create a brine solution that lowers the freezing point of water. This helps to melt ice and prevent refreezing.

Why when ice melts can you tell its not a chemical change?

The chemical structure is unchanged.

When ice melts what happens to its chemical composition?

When ice melts, the chemical composition remains the same. Ice is just the solid state of water, so when it melts, it turns into liquid water. The molecules in ice rearrange themselves into a more disordered state to become liquid water, but the chemical makeup of the water molecules themselves does not change.

Is it physical or chemical when ice melts?

When ice melts, it undergoes a physical change, not a chemical change. The molecules in the ice are still the same water molecules, but they are transitioning from a solid state to a liquid state.

Is ice melting an example of chemical?

No. It is water before it melts and it is water after it melts, so melting water is a physical thing, not chemical.

What kind of change forms when ice melts?

Is it a chemical or physical change if a piece of ice melts and reacts with sodium?

Physical Change

When ice melts why can you tell there is not a chemical change?

physical property because the chemical makeup of the ice remains the same

Is ice melting a chemical change?

No, it's a physical change, ice is just frozen water. It's a physical change because when ice melts into water, the compound of the ice stays the same, it just changes state.
