Apart from Mercury and Venus all the planets have more than us. You have to go right out to Eris to find another one that has only one moon. Even dwarf planet Pluto has 5 moons.

How is Earth's moon different then moons of other planets?

Earth's moon is very large in proportion to its planet. It is just over one quarter of Earth's diameter. While several moons in the solar system are larger than our moon, they orbit much larger planets.

Which moons are bigger that which planets?

Ganymede and Titan, which are moons of Jupiter and Saturn respectively, are larger than the planet Mercury. These are the only moons larger than any planets in our solar system. It is also worth noting that Jupiter's moons Callisto, Io, and Europa; Earth's moon; and Neptune's moon Triton are larger than Pluto, but Pluto is no longer considered a planet.

What planets are larger than earth and has rings and moons?

Saturn and Jupiter are the two planets larger than Earth that have rings and moons. Saturn has a prominent ring system made up of icy particles, while Jupiter has a fainter ring system and over 80 moons.

One of what planet moons is larger than the planets Pluto and Mercury?

Ganymede, one of Jupiter's moons, is larger than the planets Pluto and Mercury. Ganymede is the largest moon in the solar system and is even larger than Mercury.

Does the terrestrial planets have more moons than the outer planets?

Oh no, it is the outer planets which have the most moons. Terrestrial planets such as Earth have relatively few moons.

Are the moons in the solar system larger than the planets?

No, moons in the solar system are typically smaller than planets. Moons are natural satellites that orbit around planets, while planets are larger celestial bodies that do not orbit anything except their host star.

Why are mars moons and the smaller moons of the outer planets an irregular shape while the larger moons discussed in the exploration are spherical?

Mars' moons are much smaller than, for example, Earth's Moon, or the larger moons of Jupiter. A large moon will have a larger gravity, which will tend to pull the moon together into a spherical shape.

Are stars really little moons?

No. Stars are much larger than planets or moons. Stars are suns, some larger and brighter than our own.

Do any planets in the solar system have moons that are larger than them?

yes they have

Are other planets moons larger than terrestrial planets?

Two are: Jupiter's moon Ganymede and Saturn's moon Titan are larger than Mercury.

Does the outer planet have more moons than outer planet?

Oh no, it is the outer planets which have the most moons. Terrestrial planets such as Earth have relatively few moons.

Why do some planets have more moons than other planets?

The number of moons a planet has depends on a variety of factors, including the planet's size, proximity to other celestial bodies, and history of collisions. Larger planets with stronger gravity are more likely to capture and retain moons. In contrast, smaller planets may have fewer moons due to weaker gravitational forces.
