Usually, the watch face will tell you what the surface covering the face is made of, like quartz. It's commonly used in watches as that clear cover that protects the face. Other than that, the metals vary on the wristband and surrounding the face. Some expensive watches also use quartz or another crystal type on the inside to keep the hands of the watch accurate.

Of course, this is from what I know, so do some research for yourself before you base anything off of my knowledge.

Watches are typically made from metal alloys such as stainless steel, titanium, or gold. Some watches may also feature materials like sapphire crystal for the watch face. Minerals or rocks are not commonly used in the construction of watch casings or bands.
