When dead or dormant, they look like a ball of dead vegetable matter. When watered they turn into something fuzzy green or a fern, as there are two plants by this name , but have the same Resuurection properties.

The resurrection plant, also known as Selaginella lepidophylla, is a small fern-like plant that curls up and appears dead during dry conditions but can quickly rehydrate and return to life when exposed to water. Its leaves are dense and scale-like, giving it a mossy appearance.
