The Big Bang theory of physics has it that about 14 billion years ago, there was a great explosion, the nature of which is beyond our understanding of physics, and this primeval explosion created the sub-atomic particles. This continued to expand for about 400 +/- million years, by which time the energies had cooled sufficiently to form some elements such as Hydrogen, Helium, and maybe some Lithium. These elements then formed the first stars, and there was light!
These early stars grew by collision and gravity, and some eventually went supernova - a gigantic explosion. These supernova explosions were sufficiently energetic for a sufficient time to form most of the elements we know.
About 1 billion years after the Big Bang, (~700 million years after the first stars) the supernova exploded, from the debris of which our Solar system was formed. This was about 13.5 billion years ago.
Our Sun eventually accumulated sufficient material, mainly hydrogen, to grow massive by its gravity, and this pressure raised the temperature sufficiently for our Sun to undergo nuclear fusion. This is the process by which a group of hydrogen atoms is transformed into a helium atom, and so on through (some of) the early part of the Periodic Table, up to Iron.
Our Sun cannot manufacture any elements heavier than iron, and indeed there some elements lighter than iron for which the Sun has not sufficient energy to make. Carbon is one such!.
So our Solar system is a third generation formation. First the first stars, then the novas and supernovas, and then our system.
There need be no conflict between the Creation version, and Physics, for if there is a truly Omnipotent creator, then physics is a tool easily available to her/him.
