Don't over stretch because you will tighten up faster and are more likely to pull something. For a pulled or torn muscle, ice the first day, on and off every 15 min. The second day heat on and off every fifteen minutes. You'll want to alternate days of heat and ice until you are sure that you are 100%. Once the muscle is beginning to heal stretch very light. Don't stretch more if it starts hurting. Take it easy but you do need to keep it moving, but only slightly.
Never stretch your limit. If you don't think you can do it don't. But don't limit yourself too much.
A partial tearing of the muscles is commonly referred to as a muscle strain. It occurs when muscle fibers are overstretched or torn, leading to pain, swelling, and limited range of motion in the affected area. Treatment typically involves rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE therapy) along with physical therapy for rehabilitation.
Tetanus
The separation of a body part by tearing is called an avulsion. This refers to the forceful pulling or tearing of a body part from its normal position, leading to a partial or complete detachment. Avulsions can result from trauma, accidents, or injuries.

When a muscle tears, it is the muscle fibers themselves that are damaged. This can involve the tearing of the muscle tissue, as well as potentially causing damage to the surrounding blood vessels and connective tissues.
