Well, the Sun is made of burning gas, which has less density than a solid. So although the sun is larger, it wouldn't stay still on our hypothetical scales and end up floating away, whereas the moon is made from rock, nice, heavy and solid which would be going down on the scales rather than up. So although the Sun has many more particles than the moon, it is lighter.

The Sun is much heavier than the Moon. The Sun has a mass of about 330,000 times that of the Earth, while the Moon's mass is about 1/80th that of Earth.

How do the planets and moon move around the sun?

The moon orbits because of the gravitational pull from a plant. Planets move around the sun because. The lighter object orbits the heavier one, and the Sun is, by far, the heaviest object in the solar system.

When is the moon heaviest?

When it's full

Why does the moon orbit the earth and the earth orbits the sun?

The moon orbits the Earth because it is close enough to the Earth to be captured by the Earth's gravitational field. Both the Earth and the moon orbit the sun, together. The sun is by far the largest and heaviest object in the solar system, and it has the strongest gravitational field, therefore everything in the solar system orbits the sun.

Heaviest body in your solar system?

The Sun

Heaviest element your sun produces?

Would you feel heaviest on earth or on moon?

You would feel heaviest on Earth due to its stronger gravitational pull compared to the Moon. The gravitational force on the Moon is about one-sixth that of Earth, which would make you weigh less on the Moon than on Earth.

What does the moon have that the sun and moon don't have?

The moon has a gravitational effect on Earth that causes tides, which is not caused by the sun. Additionally, the moon has a surface with craters and mountains, while the sun is a ball of hot gases without a solid surface.
