The difference between the Focus and the Epicenter is......

The Focus is pretty much where the earthquake starts but some people say it is the center of the earthquake. But moving on the Epicenter is right above the Focus but on the crust.

I hope that answered your question!!

The difference between the epicentre and the focus of earthquakes is this:

The focus of the earthquake is where the actual earthquake occurred and the epicentre is on the ground directly above the focus. The epicentre is used to say where the earthquake was in relation to places near where it occurred.

Hope this helped :)

Whats the difference between the epicenter of an earthquake and the focus of the earthquake?

The focus of an earthquake is the place where an earthquake occurred along the fault underground, while the epicenter is the place directly above it where the seismic waves were felt. The focus is where an earthquake starts and the epicenter is where the earthquake hits the hardest. The focus of the earthquake is where the actual earthquake occurred and the epicenter is on the ground directly above the focus. The epicenter is used to say where the earthquake was in relation to places near where it occurred.

How does an epicenter contrast from the focus?

The focus of an earthquake is the exact point within the Earth's crust where the earthquake originates. The epicenter is the point on the Earth's surface directly above the focus. While the focus is located underground, the epicenter is on the surface.

The point below the epicenter is called the?

The point below the epicenter is called the focus. It is where the earthquake originates and radiates outwards in all directions.

What is the difference between epicenter and earthquake?

The epicenter is the point on Earth's surface directly above where an earthquake originates, known as the focus. The earthquake refers to the shaking of the ground caused by a sudden release of energy in the Earth's crust, usually due to tectonic plate movement. In other words, the epicenter is a specific location on the surface, while an earthquake is the event itself.

How could u tell were the epicenter is located with 2 seismograph readings?

The difference between the two seismograph readings could tell you where the epicenter is located.

What is the difference between an earthquake's fucus and epicenter?

The focus of an earthquake is the point within the Earth where the seismic energy is released, while the epicenter is the point on the Earth's surface directly above the focus. The focus is the actual origin of the earthquake, while the epicenter is the point on the surface where the earthquake is felt most strongly.

An earthquake can reach several miles in distance, but the epicenter is the point of the strongest movement, usually the starting point from which it spreads. Also, the epicentre is on the ground directly above the focus. The focus is the point where the actual earthquake occurred. Hope this helped:)

What is the difference between epicenter and a earthquake?

An earthquake is the sudden shaking of the grounddue to the energy released by sudden movement along a fault line in the earth's crust. The epicenter is a point on the earth's surface directly above the focus of the earthquake. The focus is the point underground where the fault line starts rupturing.

How is the focus of an earthquake related to the epicenter?

The focus of an earthquake, also known as the hypocenter, is the actual location within the Earth’s crust where the earthquake originates. The epicenter is the point on the Earth's surface directly above the focus. The relationship between the focus and the epicenter helps scientists determine the exact location of the earthquake's origin.
