Comets are icy bodies made of dust, rock, and frozen gases that develop tails when they approach the sun, while asteroids are rocky or metallic bodies that orbit the sun. Comets tend to have more eccentric orbits and are made up of volatile materials, while asteroids are usually found in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.

A meteor is seen as it gets hot passing through the Earth's atmosphere. An asteroid is a small body of frozen gasses rock and debris left over the from the creation of the Solar System. There are 100s of thousands of asteroids. If an asteroid enters the Earth's atmosphere, it is called a meteor. Most of the larger ones orbit beyond Mars. A comet is a frozen ball of gas and debris that orbits close to the Sun. It is seen as the solar wind interacts with the comet and warms the frozen gases and debris, and then blows them off the body of the Comet. The heavier particles continue in an orbit similar to the comet's. the lighter particles are blown away from the comet and move away from the Sun. The larger particles continue to orbit around the Sun. When the Earth passes through that orbit there is a meteor shower as the particles enter the Earth's atmosphere. They are seen as meteors.

What is the difference between an asteroid meteorin our solar system?

The difference between asteroid and meteorite is basically the size. Anything more than about 10 m in diameter is called an asteroid.

What is the difference between an asteroid and a asteroid belt?

An asteroid is a small rocky body that orbits the sun, while an asteroid belt is a region in our solar system located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter where many asteroids are found. The asteroid belt is like a "belt" of smaller objects orbiting the sun, with the largest asteroid being Ceres.

What is the difference between meteor meteorid and asteroid?

A meteoroid is a small rock in space, typically smaller than an asteroid. When a meteoroid enters Earth's atmosphere and burns up, it is called a meteor. If a meteoroid survives the atmosphere and lands on Earth's surface, it is referred to as a meteorite. Asteroids are larger rocky bodies in space that orbit the Sun, typically found in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.

What is the difference of a meteor and an asteroid?

An asteroid is a heavenly body which has its own orbit, between mars and jupiter, and revolve around the sun. It is made up of dust and rock. Meteor is also a heavenly body like asteroid but smaller than that.

What is the main difference between an asteroid an a meteoriod?

The main difference between an asteroid and a meteoroid is size. Asteroids are larger objects, typically measuring more than 10 meters in diameter, while meteoroids are smaller, ranging from a few meters down to dust-sized particles. Additionally, asteroids are usually found in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, while meteoroids can be found in various places, including the asteroid belt, as well as comets or other sources.

An asteroid is a small rocky body that orbits the Sun, while an asteroid belt is a region between Mars and Jupiter filled with millions of asteroids. Asteroids can be found both inside and outside of the asteroid belt, with the belt being the most concentrated area of asteroids in our solar system.
