Mount St. Helen lost nearly 2/3 of its size during the catastrophic eruption. It is smaller in size now and mostly barren, some small undergrowth is reemerging but volcanic ash is very suffocating to new growth for many years. Repeated rain, erosion and mixing with soil will turn in into good mulch eventually, but for the most part, areas of St. Helen's resembles a moon-like surface.

∙ 10y agoWithout knowing what specifically one is referring to, it is difficult to say what has changed since Mount. St. Helens. What has changed however is much of the terrain of the area after the blast. The shape of the volcano has also changed since a side of it was completely blown off.
