BY matty JASPER No i do not believe it was a success as many Native Indians were killed as a result of 'imported' diseases such as measles and also lost their homes due to greedy people wanting money. Also the Grand Carajas programme built a railway through Gavioes Indian Reserve against their wishes, causing further dispute amongst the natives living there.
