To orbit a stellar body is to be circling around it in an "orbit," captured by its gravity, but still traveling fast enough to maintain distance without falling onto the surface of the body being orbited.

Orbit refers to the curved path that an object, such as a planet or satellite, takes around another object due to their gravitational attraction. Orbits are characterized by their shape, size, and orientation, and are governed by the laws of physics, particularly gravity. Objects in orbit continuously fall towards the central body but are moving fast enough horizontally to avoid collision.

In physics, an orbit is the gravitationally curved path of one object around a point or another body, for example the gravitational orbit of a planet around a star. (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orbit)

An orbit is when the gravity of one object bends space around it and causes other objects around it to go in circles or elipses. The orbit of the Earth around the sun takes 365 and 1/4ths days. This means that every year, the Earth will have made 1 round trip around the Sun. This is also what causes the seasons. Since the Earth is slightly tilted, our orbit around the Sun changes which side of the tilted Earth will be closer to the Sun at a given time.

Orbit is a movement performed by one body by revolving around another body in a circular or elliptical path. Earth performs this movement by revolving around the Sun in an elliptical path every three-hundred sixty-five days causing the phenomena of the seasons. The period of this movement is known as a year.
