There is evidence of the movement if the earths crust all over the world. The fact that if you look on a map you will see that South America and Africa look like they fit together like a puzzle. There have also been identical fossils found on different continents which enforces the fact that the land masses were once joined and have infact MOVED apart. If there is an earthquake fissures can form which are cracks in the ground where the ground has MOVED apart.

An example of Earth's moving crust is plate tectonics, where large sections of the Earth's lithosphere (crust and upper mantle) called plates, move and interact with each other. This movement can lead to processes like earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and the formation of mountain ranges.

How and why does the earths crust vary from place to place?

The earths crust its 5-70km deep in the ocean and upto 100km deep at mountain ranges. At certain areas, the crust is unstable due to moving plate tectonics.

What is an example of a fault in earths crust?

San Andreas fault.

Are some parts of the earths crust moving up to 12 cm per year?

yes

Why is the earths crust always moving?

Simple- Convection in the mantle causes mantle to slowly move, and it pushes against the crust. As it does this, the tectonic plates move.

What is the size of the earths crust?

The Earths crust is approximately 650 km deep.

Where is most of the earths new crust found?

Most of Earth's new crust is found along mid-ocean ridges, underwater mountain ranges where tectonic plates are moving apart. This is where magma rises from the mantle to create new crust through volcanic activity.

Why volcanoes are commonly found of the edges of earths moving plate?

This is where the weaknesses in the earths crust lie and it is the easiest place for lava to spew out of these weaker areas, therefore forming volcanoes

What is the moving portion of earths crust and upper mantle?

The moving portion of Earth's crust and upper mantle is known as the lithosphere. It is broken into tectonic plates that float on the semi-fluid asthenosphere below, causing them to move and interact with each other, which leads to processes like earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and mountain building.

What are volcanoes and what causes them?

a volcano is a rupture or opening in the earths crust. caused by convergent (coming together) or divergent (moving apart) plates

What causes the earths crust to rise and fall?

The sudden vibration in the plates inside the crust causes the earths crust to rise & fall.
