The atmosphere is primarily heated by the sun. Solar radiation warms the Earth's surface, which in turn heats the air above it. Other factors that can influence atmospheric warming include greenhouse gases and human activities that release heat-trapping emissions into the atmosphere.

Why is there only some stars that shoot?

A shooting star is not actually a star. It is a meteorite going through our atmosphere. It becomes white hot as it heats up from the friction in our atmosphere and usually burns up.

Do meteors usually burn up the earth's atmosphere?

Most of them do... the friction of the atmosphere heats them to the point that they melt. Only the larger 'chunks' fail to evaporate completely.

How do meteor catch on fire?

The Earth's atmosphere is warm and as the meteor goes through it, it heats up and starts to burn, which is how we see them.

Is a meteorite on fire when it hits the earth?

It is either on fire or very hot as passing through the atmosphere heats it up a graet deal.

Why does the carbon dioxide you breathe out rises?

Even though Carbon Dioxide gas is the heaviest of the gases that make up our atmosphere. Breathing them out of your lungs heats up those Carbon Dioxide molecules to your body temperature and this helps them to rise into the atmosphere and as they cool they fall.

How does the sunlight affect the atmosphere?

It heats it up by about 30 degrees C.

What is something warm that can make the weather rain or snow?

The sun... the atmosphere it heats up.

Energy from sun heats up what?

Energy from the sun heats up the Earth's surface, oceans, and atmosphere. This heat drives weather patterns, ocean currents, and the water cycle on our planet.

What happens when a space shuttle reenter the atmosphere?

It heats up a lot and becomes vey hot.

Why do space vecitcles heat up as they enter the atmosphere?

They are going so fast that the force of the drag from the molecules in the atmosphere is so great that the friction heats up the shell of the spacecraft

What source of energy heats the atmosphere?

The primary source of energy that heats the atmosphere is the Sun. Solar radiation warms the Earth's surface, which in turn heats the lower atmosphere through conduction and convection. Additionally, the atmosphere also retains some heat from the Earth's surface.

How is Water added to the atmosphere?

Water is added to the atmosphere through a process called evaporation. This happens when the sun heats up water on the surface of the Earth.

How is the atmosphere affected by the convection?

The atmosphere is affected by convention because convection heats the lower atmosphere. Radiation transfers energy which other gases heat up. Conduction does not impact the atmosphere in these same ways.

How do trees and plants cool the earth?

Sucks up the carbon doixide. Carbon dioxide is every animal's breath and heats up the atmosphere.
