Volcano eruptions can have various impacts on the environment. They can release large amounts of ash, gases, and lava that can alter the landscape, harm vegetation, and affect wildlife. Eruptions can also lead to air pollution, changes in climate, and contribute to the formation of new landforms.

if it is a major volcanic eruption the sky will be covered in a thick coat of dust and ash and most of the surrounding area of the volcano will most probably be burnt, destroyed or covered in ash. Farms will be destroyed so no crops will be grown.
