Lead is produced from Lead ore called galena. The galena is mined, two examples of where it is found are the mines in North-east Wales Orefield and the North Pennine Orefield, both in the UK.

Lead is a naturally occurring element found in the Earth's crust, typically in ores like galena. It is commonly mined and extracted through a process called smelting. Lead is also a byproduct of other metal extraction processes and can be found in things like car batteries, pipes, and electronics.

lead is an element of it's own... element #82, Pb or Plumbous/Plumbic. Other then the fact that lead is lead, it isn't made from anything...I guess it comes from the ground.
