the 2 alleles of the gene for the trait are different on the 2 homologous chromosomes
Being heterozygous for a trait means that they have different alleles for a trait. For instance: Tt would be heterozygous and TT or tt would be homozygous because they are both eitehr little or big t's.
it mean the gene is not pure or for example suppose a person is blood group A but actually he is having A and O; because O is recessive trait the gene express the A trait instead, making the person having blood group A.

Being heterozygous for a trait means that an individual has two different alleles for that particular trait, with one dominant and one recessive allele. This often results in the dominant allele being expressed in the phenotype, masking the recessive allele.

What would the offspring most likely be if an individual with a heterozygous trait and an individual with a homozgous recessive trait crossed be?

The offspring would most likely have a 50% chance of inheriting the heterozygous trait and a 50% chance of inheriting the homozygous recessive trait.

Condition of being heterozygous for a recessive trait?

Being heterozygous for a recessive trait means having one dominant allele and one recessive allele for that particular trait. In this case, the dominant allele will determine the phenotype while the recessive allele is masked. This individual will not show the trait associated with the recessive allele but can pass it on to their offspring.

What offspring is produced if a heterozygous n tall pea plant is crossed with a homozygousfor this trait what percent of the offspring will be heterozygous?

If a heterozygous tall pea plant, Aa, is crossed with a homozygous plant, AA, for the trait, you will have a one in one in four chance of the offspring being heterozygous. You will need to create a square and plug the traits in to see what the odds are.

Scientists call an organism that has two different alleles for a trait is what?

an organism that has two different alleles for a trait is heterozygous

Organism that has two diffrent alleles for a single trait?

An organism that has two different alleles for a single trait is called heterozygous. This means that the organism inherited different versions of the gene responsible for that trait from each parent.

What organism with two unlike genes of a trait is called?

A heterozygous has 2 different alleles for a trait.

WhAT describes the notation Tt for the trait of being tall?

The notation Tt represents a heterozygous genotype for the trait of being tall, where T is the dominant allele for tallness and t is the recessive allele for shortness. This means the individual will exhibit the tall trait because the dominant allele is expressed.

Individual heterozygous for a trait and an individual homozygous recessive for the trait are crossed and produce many offspring?

The offspring will all inherit one copy of the dominant allele (from the heterozygous parent) and one copy of the recessive allele (from the homozygous recessive parent). This results in all offspring being heterozygous for the trait.

What is a person who has one recessive allele for a trait and one dominant allele for the same trait and is able to pass in the trait on to their offspring?

That is heterozygous. Some scientist call these "hybrids"(no joke)The person is heterozygous for that trait and will have the dominant phenotype. An organism with both a dominant and recessive allele for a specific trait is called an heterozygote. They are heterozygous for this trait.

Describes an organism that has two different alleles for a trait?

What contains both a dominate trait and a recessive trait?

What term describes an individual that has a dominant and a recessive allele for a trait?

The term for an individual with a dominant and a recessive allele for a trait is "heterozygous." This means they have two different alleles for a specific gene, with one being dominant and the other recessive.
