A compass rose is placed on a map to show which direction is true north. It usually also has pointers to the other 3 cardinal directions (east, west, and south) and sometimes to the directions between those four (northeast, southwest, etc.)

A compass rose is a symbol on a map that shows the cardinal directions (north, east, south, west) and sometimes intermediate directions (northeast, southeast, southwest, northwest). It helps users determine which direction they are facing and how to navigate.

A compass rose cannot be shown in text-only WikiAnswers. A compass rose is the graphic on a map that shows the direction of North, South, East, and West in relation to the map, and sometimes also identifies other, intermediate directions such as "Northeast."

A compass rose shows what the directions are. It is usually found in a compass, in order for someone to find their way.
