A hydrogen bond is the attractive interaction of a hydrogen atom with an electronegative atom(<-wikipedia). Hence, in a water molecule the positive hydrogen atoms are attracted to the negative oxygen atoms.

Just know that the hydrogen bond mentioned above is not a chemical bond. If it were, it wouldn't be water anymore.

Another force between water molecules are London Dispersion Forces.

What are there bonds in a water molecule?

A water molecule has two types of bonds: covalent bonds between the oxygen atom and the hydrogen atoms within the molecule, and hydrogen bonds between water molecules. The covalent bonds hold the atoms within a water molecule together, while hydrogen bonds are formed between the positively charged hydrogen atoms of one water molecule and the negatively charged oxygen atom of another water molecule.

The weak bonds that hold two or more water molecules together are called what?

The weak bonds that hold two or more water molecules together are called hydrogen bonds. These bonds form due to the attraction between the slightly positive hydrogen atom of one water molecule and the slightly negative oxygen atom of another water molecule.

What type of bonds hold separate water molecules together?

Hydrogen bonds hold separate water molecules together. This type of bond forms between the partially positive hydrogen atom of one water molecule and the partially negative oxygen atom of another water molecule.

What Bonds hold water molecules far apart from each other?

Hydrogen bonds hold water molecules far apart from each other. These bonds form between the hydrogen atom of one water molecule and the oxygen atom of another water molecule, creating a strong force that keeps the molecules separate. This gives water its unique properties such as high surface tension and cohesion.

The bonds that link many water molecules together to form a water drop are bonds.?

Hydrogen.

What is the difference between water molecules and the bond within the water molecule?

Water molecules are composed of one oxygen atom and two hydrogen atoms. The bonds within a water molecule are covalent bonds, which are strong bonds that hold the atoms together. These covalent bonds involve the sharing of electrons between the oxygen and hydrogen atoms within the water molecule.

What are the bonds that hold hydrogen and oxygen called?

In water and many other compounds hydrogen and oxygen are held by covalent bonds.Between water molecules and between other polar molecules hydrogen of one molecule and oxygen of a different molecule are held by hydrogen bonds.

How do Inter-molecule differ from intra-molecule?

Inter-molecular bonds involve the way molecules stick together in solids and liquids, like the polar bonds in water or the structures of diamonds and plastics. Intramolecular bonds are what hold each molecule together.Ê

The DNA molecule has both strong bonds and weak bonds which hold the molecule together. is this true or false?

What kind of bonds hold together atoms in a molecule?

The bonds are ionic or covalent.

What types of bonds hold together a water molecule?

Water has covalent bonds. The bonds between atoms in a water molecule are covalent bond, somewhat polar ones.

What holds the atoms molecule together?

Bonds hold atoms together. There are hydrogen bonds, ionic bonds, and covalent bonds.
