Both groups are nonmetals. All of Group 8 and all but one element in Group 7 are gases under ordinary conditions. However, their chemical behavior is very different. The atoms of halogens easily gain one electron, making them extremely reactive. The noble gases do not ordinarily gain, lose, or share electrons, making them chemically unreactive.

Well, noble gases are gases in which really DON'T like to share electrons.

Noble gases are all colorless, odorless, and tasteless. They are also all inert, meaning they have a full valence shell of electrons and are therefore very unreactive chemically.
