Elements: Pure substance. Made up of only itself (Ex: Oxygen).
Compound: A substance made up of two or more elements that are chemically combined (Ex. Water- dihydrogenmonoxide= H2O).
Mixture: Combination of substances (substances can be elements, compounds, or both). These substances are NOTchemically combined, which means that mixtures are differentfrom compounds.
compounds are made of elements, actually they are elements connected with some kind of bond (covalent, ionic...)
elements are elementary substances, and all substances are made of them (unless you want to split an atom :D).
elements are made of atoms which are very small in size. There is 92 natural elements, and around 15-20 artificial elements.
on the other hand there are thousands, tens of thousands compounds, maybe even more.
the noble gases
They are called compounds.
Compounds are one or more elements combined to make a compound. Like H2o is oxygen and hydrogen combined.
Copper, Silver, and Gold occur as elements instead of compounds.
Compounds are formed from elements.
The elements and compounds to the right of the equations are called products.
Mixture.
Noble gases
ReactivityThe ease and speed with which an element combines with other elements and compounds is called the "reactivity" of the element.
Atoms of different elements can " stick together " ( making compounds ) via elements sharing or trading arrangements called
oxides
Chemical compounds are formed from chemical elements.
ReactivityThe ease and speed with which an element combines with other elements and compounds is called the "reactivity" of the element.
ReactivityThe ease and speed with which an element combines with other elements and compounds is called the "reactivity" of the element.
ReactivityThe ease and speed with which an element combines with other elements and compounds is called the "reactivity" of the element.
This would be called an element, or a mono-atomic compound.
