CO2 is a pure substance made of two elements, Carbon and Oxygen.
Yes, helium is a pure substance because it is composed of only one type of atom, which is helium itself.
They are both compounds; They both have more than 2 atoms or substances
A compound is still a type of pure substance because of its number of particles. In order to be a pure substance, something needs one particle, and even though a compound is made of multiple elements, it still has a single particle.
Non-iodized table salt is a pure substance because it is composed of only one type of particle: sodium chloride (NaCl). This means that all the particles in non-iodized table salt are identical in terms of their composition. Thus, it does not contain any impurities or other substances mixed in.
The 2 categories are 'pure substances' or 'mixtures'
A pure substance can be an element or a compound. An element is made up of only one type of atom, while a compound is made up of two or more different types of atoms chemically bonded together.
A substance is considered a pure substance if it consists of only one type of atom or molecule throughout. On the other hand, a mixture is composed of two or more different substances physically combined. One way to determine if a substance is a mixture or pure is by performing a separation technique like distillation or chromatography to see if it can be broken down into its components.
A pure compound is a substance composed of a specific molecule or formula unit composed of 2 or more elements that cannot be broken down physically.
Because it contains 2 or more substances
I thought it was pure substance. But i recently took a Science Test of these subject(i'm also in 8th grade) and it was the same question...EXACTLY! I put down Pure substance as well but appearantly the answer was "All of the Above" which included A.Pure Substance B.Compound C.Element ... so as long as you can prove it was only pure substance( This was for extra credit to get points back on the test for my teacher) You got the points. In my opinion a Pure Substance is the substance in which there is only one type of particle. I hoped this helped :)
A pure substance:cannot be separated into 2 or more substances by physical or mechanical meansis homogeneous, ie, has uniform composition throughout the whole sampleits properties are constant throughout the whole sampleits properties do not depend on how it is prepared or purifiedhas constant chemical composition
Compound, no group 2 or group 1 (except H if its considered) exist in elemental form naturally.
no bbecause you have 1) the materiel in the fabric and 2) the dye or bleach
CO2 is a pure substance made of two elements, Carbon and Oxygen.
Eukaryotic or prokaryotic
A compound is 2 elements chemically combined, though it is unseparatable, it is made up of 2 or more elements. But since a compound cannot be broken down into elements, after the elements are chemically combined, that makes a compound a pure substance
