It depends on which age group you are talking about. i would say for children under 6th grade, it is not appropriate. for mature children above that age though, i think would be alright. there is some mature content in it, obviously, children killing other children, and other things. when i read it, i was in 6th grade (a year ago) and i had nightmares about being in the games that scared me half to death. so, i would say that it is a good book, but the reader should be careful.
Best would be entirely opinion in this case, but many people were fans of Robin Williams. He played in many children's movies, as well as some that were more adult oriented. He had a wide range of comedy.
