Malachite is a mineral that is often used in jewelry and ornamental pieces due to its striking green color and unique banding patterns. It is also sometimes used for sculptures, beads, and small carvings. Additionally, malachite can also be ground into a powder to create pigments for green paint.
Malachite is a type of copper carbonate hydroxide mineral that typically forms in the oxidized zones of copper ore deposits. It is commonly found in association with other copper minerals such as azurite.

It is heated.
Malachite is a green mineral that contains copper. It is a secondary mineral formed in the oxidation zones of copper ore deposits.
Malachite is a vibrant green colour, often with light and dark green banding or patterns due to its unique crystal growth structure.

Considering a few drops of 0.038% malachite green is used in a 100 gallon aquarium to kill fungus infections in fish and considering mycorrhizae is a fungus, of course the green dye in mulches kills any mycorrhizae added. Using the two together is a huge waste of money. Dave B.

When malachite (copper carbonate) is dissolved in sulfuric acid, a chemical reaction takes place where the copper carbonate reacts with the acid to form copper sulfate, carbon dioxide gas, and water. This reaction results in the dissolution of the malachite and the formation of copper sulfate solution.
the egyptians used kohl which is galena mixed with soot. Galena is lead sufide. They also used malachite which is a copper ore, a carbonate mineral (it has a vibrant green colour). Malachite was imported from the sinai desert.
Malachite is not transparent; it is an opaque green mineral with a distinctive banded pattern.

The predominant metal in malachite is copper.Related Information:Malachite is an opaque bright blue to bright green copper carbonate hydrate, a semiprecious mineral, that contains the metal copper in combination with carbonate and hydroxide groups. Malachite often contains other metals, but only in small amounts. The chemical formula for malachite is CuCO3.Cu(OH)2.
Malachite is also green.
