You need to put one seed in a pot of soil and place it in a room where there is no light and place another plant in a pot without soil and under a window as there are a lot of light. After a few days, you will see that the seed in the soil pot light will germinate, and you can conclude that a seed does not need light to germinate but need soil.

Sunlight is not necessary for the germination of seeds. Seeds require water, proper temperature, and in some cases, oxygen to germinate. Sunlight becomes important after germination to support the growth of the seedling through photosynthesis.

Is sunlight needed for seed germination?

Sunlight is not need to germinate seeds. All that is needed is moisture and the proper temperatures.

What are needed for the seed germination?

The conditions necessary for seed germination include:optimum temperature, oxygen, adequate supply of water, sunlight, moisture content, soil ph......

What speeds up the germination of a seed?

Moisture, temperature and sunlight

What gas is needed by the seed during germination?

Oxygen is needed by seeds during germination to undergo cellular respiration and produce energy for growth. This process allows the seed to break dormancy and begin the germination process.

What are facts needed in order for the seeds to germinate sunlight?

In order for seeds to germinate, they require water, appropriate temperature, and oxygen. Sunlight is not necessary for seed germination, but it is often needed for the growth of the seedling after germination to carry out photosynthesis.

What does the germination of a seed depend upon?

Sunlight, water, temperature, elevation, and others.

Why do seeds not need sunlight for germination?

Seeds do not need sunlight for germination because the energy needed for germination is stored within the seed itself, in the form of starches and proteins. The initial stages of germination rely on water uptake, which triggers the biochemical processes needed to break dormancy and start growth. Once the seedling emerges from the soil, it requires sunlight for photosynthesis to produce energy.

What gas is needed for germination?

Oxygen is the primary gas needed for germination. It is required to activate enzymes that control the metabolic processes within the seed during germination.

What are the materials needed in seed germanation?

seed germination needs moist soil and sunny temperate climate.

What is needed for seed germination?

Seed germination requires water, proper temperature, oxygen, and sometimes light. Water helps soften the seed coat and activates enzymes needed for growth. The right temperature is crucial for metabolic processes to occur, while oxygen is essential for cellular respiration. Light can also be a trigger for germination in some plant species.

What liquid needed for germination?

Water is the most important liquid needed for germination. It helps to soften the seed coat, activate enzymes, and provide the necessary moisture for the seed to begin the process of sprouting and growing.

How does water help the gemination of a plant?

first the water is absorbed by the seed shell which physicly helps germination, secondly it is the first signal needed for the embrio inside the seed to start activating all the biochemical and genetic process needed for germination
