SUBLIMATION: It is a process in which a solid instead of changing into liquid state changes directly into gaseous state upon heating. MELTING: It is a process in which a solid at its melting point changes into liquid state upon heating.

β 7y agoMelting is the process of a solid going through a physical change to the liquid state.
Sublimation is the process of a solid going immediately to the gaseous state, skipping the liquid state entirely. You can seesublimation in action by seeing a block of dry ice (frozen carbon dioxide gas) "melt" from a solid into white smoke.
Sublimation is the process in which a substance transitions directly from the solid phase to the gas phase without passing through the liquid phase. It does not involve melting or freezing.

β 9y agoNeither. Melting is the process of a solid becoming a liquid. Freezing is the process of a liquid becoming a solid. Sublimation is the process of a solid becoming a gas.

β 12y agoMelting is when a solid changes phase to a liquid.
Sublimation is when a solid changes phase directly to a vapour without going through the liquid phase.
The two changes of state involved in freeze drying are melting and freezing.
A solid is transformed in a liquid by melting; some solids are transformed directly in a gas by sublimation.
no it is not melting is the reverse of freezing
The conversion of a solid to a liquid is called melting. This process occurs when heat is added to a solid, causing its particles to gain enough energy to break free of their fixed position and form a liquid.
Melting is endothermic. Freezing is exothermic.

The six different phase changes are: Melting (solid to liquid) Freezing (liquid to solid) Vaporization (liquid to gas) Condensation (gas to liquid) Sublimation (solid to gas) Deposition (gas to solid)

Boron has a melting point of 2076Β°C and a sublimation point of 2550Β°C.

The two changes of state involved in freeze drying are melting and freezing.
melting, vaporization, sublimation, condensation, freezing, and deposition are six types of changes in matter.
Sublimation, boiling, condensation, melting and freezing. One might include evaporation, though that does not happen at a particular temperature.
The six changes of state are: melting (solid to liquid), freezing (liquid to solid), vaporization (liquid to gas), condensation (gas to liquid), sublimation (solid to gas), and deposition (gas to solid).
