If the items in the mixture are different sizes, it is one method used to separate mixtures. If you have a mixture of sand and rocks, a sieve would let the sand go through, and hold back the gravel.

A sieve is basically a fine mesh, or a net. if you pour something on a mesh, smaller stuff will go through and bigger stuff will stay behind - getting separated from the smaller stuff.

What are the techniques used to sperate a mixture?

Many methods exist: distillation, centrifugation, decantation, precipitation, filtering, electromagnetic separation, sieving, flotation, crystallization, drying, chromatography, extraction, electrphoresis etc.

How do you separate dry mixture?

To separate a dry mixture, you can use methods like handpicking elements, sieving to filter particles by size, or using a magnet to extract magnetic components. Additionally, techniques such as filtration with a filter paper or evaporation can be employed depending on the specific components in the mixture.

Separation techniques?

Separation techniques are those techniques that can be used to separate two different states of matter such as liquid and solid. Such separation techniques include filtration or evaporation.

Examples: decantation, sieving, magnetic separation.

What are the 2 main techniques of separating into different parts?

Two examples are distillation and sieving.

What method of separation where you can separate particles on the basis of size is called?

The method of separation that separates particles based on size is called sieving. This involves passing a mixture through a sieve, allowing smaller particles to pass through while larger particles are retained.

What is the technique you use to separate?

Examples of separation methods: filtration, distillation, sieving, ion exchange, solvent extraction, etc.
