β 12y agoBiological Studies have shown that organisms are very responsive to their environments. External Stimuli affect reflexes, as well as create learned behaviors and reinforce innate ones.
External Stimuli can also affect heredity, as well as natural selection as far as evolution as a whole.

β 11y agoPractically anything can be a stimulus, so organisms can respond to them in just about any way. The definition of 'stimulus' and 'response' are a little paradoxical in this context in that a stimulus is anything that provokes a response and a response is anything done to react to a stimulus.
Perhaps some examples will make it clearer: if a predator grasps a lizard's tail (stimulus) it will detach the tail and How_do_organisms_react_to_a_stimulus(response). If the weather is excessively hot (stimulus), a plant will close the stomata in its leaves to conserve water (response). If a laboratory mouse notices a new object in its cage (stimulus), it will go investigate it (response).
Yes, that's correct. A stimulus is any change in an organism's environment that causes a reaction or response from that organism. This response can be physical, chemical, or behavioral in nature.

The change is actually a stimulus and when the organism reacts to the stimulus, it becomes a response. Overall, The answer is a stimulus.

A change that causes a response in your body is a stimulus. When a stimulus is detected by the body, it triggers a reaction that helps maintain balance and homeostasis.
An organism in action responding to a stimulus is exhibiting behavior. Changes in behavior as a result of a stimulus is known as a response. This response can be adaptive, where the organism benefits from its behavior, or non-adaptive, where the behavior does not confer any advantage.

stimulus
A stimulus is a change in an organism's surroundings or body which causes it to respond. Hence, a response is an organism's reaction to a specific stimulus.
A stimulus is an external event or cue that triggers a reaction in an organism, while a response is the specific reaction or behavior that follows the presentation of a stimulus. In simpler terms, a stimulus is something that causes a response.
A change in an organism's environment that causes it to react is called a stimulus. Stimuli can be physical, chemical, or biological factors that trigger a response in an organism to help it adapt and survive in its environment.

The answer to this would mose probabaly be a stimulus. Because there are 2 types of stimuli Internal Stimulus and External Stimulus and so it has to be either one of these but the answer is stimulus.
