The main function of the Rough ER is to assist in protein production, so cells where large amounts of protein are produced, such as pancreatic cells (which produce digestive enzymes), will have more RER.

In contrast, cells with main functions such as transport will not need as much (or any).

The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) can be found in eukaryotic cells, which include animal cells, plant cells, fungal cells, and protist cells. The ER plays a key role in protein synthesis and lipid metabolism within these cells.

Where can you find endoplasmic reticulum?

It is found in a plant cell and in an animal cell.

Where would you find the bi-lipid layer in the Cell?

The places are at least four: at the Cell's perifery [the Cell Membrane]; within the smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum; and the rough Endoplasmic Reticulum; as well as 'at' the Nuclear Envelope.

What organelle do you find near endoplasmic reticulum in the cell?

Golgi bodies

Is smooth endoplasmic reticulum prokaryotic or eukaryotic?

Smooth endoplasmic reticulum is a eukaryotic organelle found in eukaryotic cells. It is involved in lipid and steroid synthesis, among other functions.

Where can you find a ribosome?

Ribosomes can be found in the cytoplasm of cells, as well as on the endoplasmic reticulum. They are responsible for protein synthesis in the cell.

In which types of cell you expect to find rough cisternal endoplasmic reticulum?

muscle cells

Where would you find mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum?

In the cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells.

Does animals have endoplasmic reticulum?

Animal cells have an endoplasmic reticulum. If you look up animals cells, you will find exactly where it is in the cell. Also, there are two type of ER. there is rough and smooth. This is in plant and animal cells.

What is the visual aid of endoplasmic reticulum?

You will find them on the Google!

Where are DNA and ribosomes found?

DNA is found in the nucleus of a cell, while ribosomes can be found in both the cytoplasm of the cell and on the rough endoplasmic reticulum.

If a protein without a hydrophobic domain is synthesized on the rough endoplasmic reticulum's what places would you NOT expect to find it?

If a protein without a hydrophobic domain is synthesized on the rough endoplasmic reticulum, you would not expect to find it integrated into the membrane of the ER, targeted to other membrane-bound organelles, or secreted outside the cell. This is because proteins without hydrophobic regions are less likely to be involved in membrane interactions or secretion pathways.
