It varies somewhat but it works out to be, on average, about every 28 days. There is variation between women and even from cycle to cycle for individual women. In girls just starting menstruation and women undergoing menopause it can be (and usually is) much more irregular.

Note: the average is for the release of ONE egg and there are TWO ovaries.
