The Philippines has many islands with diverse habitats. Some of the key ones include Palawan for its rainforests, coral reefs, and limestone cliffs; Mindanao for its mountain ranges and tropical forests; and Luzon for its volcanoes, rice terraces, and marine biodiversity. Each island offers unique ecosystems that support a wide range of flora and fauna.
Rice (Oryza sativa) typically has 24 chromosomes.
There are 1000 kilograms (kg) in 1 ton of rice.
The rice-fields in Asia are commonly referred to as "paddy fields" or "rice paddies." These flooded fields are specifically designed for growing rice, a staple food in many Asian countries.

In agriculture, a terrace is a leveled section of a hilly cultivated area, designed as a method of soil conservation to slow or prevent the rapid surface runoff of irrigation water. Often such land is formed into multiple terraces, giving a stepped appearance. The human landscapes of rice cultivation in terraces that follow the natural contours of the escarpments like contour plowing is a classic feature of the island of Bali and the Banaue Rice Terraces in Benguet, Philippines. In Peru, the Inca made use of otherwise unusable slopes by drystone walling to create terraces. This form of land use is prevalent in many countries, and is used for crops requiring a lot of water, such as rice. Terraces are also easier for both mechanical and manual sowing and harvesting than a steep slope would be.For more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrace_(agriculture)

The Philippines is blessed by nature. The country has many tourist spots that visitors can enjoy that are relatively inexpensive. The most popular tourist spots in the country are: Boracay Island, Cebu, The Hundred Islands in Pangasinan, Iloilo, the Banaue Rice Terraces, Baguio City, Palawan Island, Puerto Galera, the UNESCO heritage site of Vigan, Corregidor Island and of course, the capital city of Manila.
Humans change the landscapes a lot because of many reasons such as growing crops and making farms, or to build a city or a town and especially rice terraces. Throughout Asia, flat lands have been carved out to grow rice. These are called rice terraces. Rice terraces need to be next to a water source like a river. However, rice terraces have dramatic impacts on the land. Another negative human impact is pollution. Cars release a gas into the air that damages the Ozone layer. If the Ozone layer is damaged significantly temperatures will rise significantly which will kill plants such as trees and will kill many crops. If the plants get destroyed Herbivores would not survive and this will result in less meat.
