If it is 6.00am on Monday in Ghana, the time in Australia will depend on which part of Australia you are referring to as Australia has multiple time zones. For example, in Sydney, Australia, which is in the Australian Eastern Standard Time zone (AEST), it would be 4.00pm on the same day because there is a 10-hour time difference between Ghana and Sydney.
The 5-hour time difference between Los Angeles (LAX) and Sydney, Australia, is due to the fact that Sydney is 17 hours ahead of Los Angeles in terms of time zones. However, when factoring in the difference caused by the International Date Line and crossing the Pacific Ocean, which can result in losing a day when traveling from the US to Australia, the flight duration and time zone change don't perfectly align.
Australia has several time zones, but for example, Sydney time (AEST/AEDT) is typically 14-17 hours ahead of US Eastern Time (EST/EDT) depending on daylight saving time. So, when it is 12 PM in Sydney, it would be between 10 PM-1 AM the previous day in the US Eastern Time Zone.
The shortest flight time is about 14 hours from Sydney to Los Angeles. However, because of the change in time zones, you would actually arrive from 3 to 5 hours before you left. You will gain a day crossing the International Date Line, making Los Angeles 18 hours earlier than Sydney (either 17 or 19 hours depending on Daylight Savings Time). You would lose this time on the return to Sydney, where some flights from the US will arrive "two days" after the day they take off!It depends where you are COMING FROM.
