There can be no equivalence. A pound is a measure of mass. A cup is a measure of volume. The two measure different things and, according to basic principles of dimensional analysis, conversion from one to the other is not valid.
The masses of equal volumes of the two substances will clearly be very different. So there is no direct conversion between mass and volume: you need to know the density of the substance to enable you to carry out the conversion.
1 lb = 16 oz
1/2 lb = 8 oz
1/4 lb = 4 oz or 0.25
0.25=1/4 or 25%
+0.25=1/2 or 50%
+.025 = 3/4 or 75%
+0.25 1 lb. or 100%
4 oz
1 cup = 8 ounces
1 ounce = 0.12 cup
Pounds can't be converted to cups. Pounds measure mass, while cups measure volume.
The units are incompatible stated as they are. It depends what substance is being used.
